About Joan, The Cincinnati Wax Queen

Seven to Eight years ago, Brazilian bikini waxing was just becoming popular in the Cincinnati area.  They did not teach this type of waxing in esthetic schools.  I sought out training with Lori Nestore, the country's expert in Brazilian and Body waxing and earned the name for myself here as the "Cincinnati Wax Queen."

I have over 20 years experience in skin care, nutritional, physical, and emotional health.  I also have critical care and Operating Room experience.  Numerous physicians and surgeons in the area refer their patients to me for my expertise with the Light Sheer Laser.  The laser is not only for bikini lines, back hair, and other unwanted hair, but also facial hair due to PCOS, other hormone disorders, and peri-anal areas for pilonidal cyst treatment.

I have trained with the best of the best.  I travel around the country to learn from the country?s best educators and attend seminars, conferences, and subscribe to professional memberships and journals to offer you the best service possible.

 Did you know?..?

Bikini waxing defined. Bikini waxing has several different names.

The French wax is basically everything that hangs out of your underpants (the basic bikini).

Different people refer to the Brazilian bikini wax differently.  Some refer to it as everything and others refer to it as leaving a landing strip.  The Sphinx or Playboy wax is everything waxed off from the belly button to the anus including the buttocks.  Some people prefer to leave a small patch and some want it totally bare.  It?s not just for women anymore.  More and more men are now seeking the Sphinx or Brazilian waxing.

Why should I apply antioxidants and which ones should I apply on my skin?

Everyone should apply antioxidants and sunscreen daily.  Oxidation is a process of aging.  By applying antioxidants you can slow down this process.  Several studies show by applying topical vitamin C serum to your skin will increase the effectiveness of your sunscreen, stimulate collagen to help decrease wrinkles and pore size.  Your vitamin C needs to be L-ascorbic acid, at least 10%, and at a lowered ph of about 2.8 to be able to penetrate and be absorbed into the skin.
