Many clients have told me horror stories of visits to other salons regarding hygiene and the disappointment of their technician's experience.  My education, experience, and nursing background are a priceless asset.  I do not double dip waxing sticks, you are always lying on a clean sheet and everything is sanitized/ disinfected in hospital level disinfectants.  All waxing sticks are disposable wooden sticks.  All permanent makeup needles are one time use and disposable.

Bikini waxing defined.

Bikini waxing has several different names.

The French wax is basically everything that hangs out of your underpants (the basic bikini).

Different people refer to the Brazilian bikini wax differently. Some refer to it as everything and others refer to it as leaving a landing strip. The Sphinx or Playboy wax is everything waxed off from the belly button to the anus. Some people prefer to leave a small patch and some want it totally bare. It's not just for women anymore. More and more men are now seeking the Sphinx or Brazilian waxing.

Considering a Brazilian?

Before waxing... Don't get waxed right before or during your period. Your skin is more acidic during this time and your skin will be more sensitive to being waxed. Don't get waxed if you are on any medicine that makes you sun sensitive. This makes the skin extremely sensitive to being waxed. Three weeks hair growth ideal for waxing, but a minimum of 2 weeks is a must. Make sure your technician is experienced. I recommend hard wax for the genital area. It does not stick to the labia or mucous membranes like most traditional waxes and does not leave the area sticky. After waxing, no oils, creams, lotions....these clog the pores and can cause folliculitis. No spandex or panty hose for a few days. Need clothing where the skin can breathe. I've not had any clients really uncomfortable afterwards but if they are I recommend tucks pads or a mild hydrocortisone cream. The first wax is uncomfortable due to the amount of hair being removed. Maintenance waxing is recommended every 4 weeks. The hair thins out and each time waxed it is less painful.

Why should I apply antioxidants and which ones should I apply on my skin?

Everyone should apply antioxidants and sunscreen daily. Oxidation is a process of aging. By applying antioxidants you can slow down this process. Several studies show by applying topical vitamin C serum to your skin will increase the effectiveness of your sunscreen, stimulate collagen to help decrease wrinkles and pore size. Your vitamin C needs to be L-ascorbic acid, at least 10%, and at a lowered ph of about 2.8 to be able to penetrate and be absorbed into the skin.
